Access & assistance for disabled people

If you have any access needs it is important to please let us know in advance so that we can make arrangements for your comfort.

The community areas of the centre are all on the ground floor. There is a smooth path accessible through the gate on the corner of Dogsthorpe Road and Woodbyth Road leading to the front door. There is one small, curved step to the door, one small up-and-over door sill into the porch and another into the hallway. Each step is no higher than 4 inches (10cm). The doors can be opened wide enough to easily accommodate someone in a standard wheelchair.

We have a portable ramp that we can arrange to put in place to assist you over the steps. Once in the hallway, all areas of the Centre are accessible. There is room for a wheelchair to fit face-on to the toilet to facilitate forward transfers only.

We meditate on straight-backed banqueting chairs and there are cushions on which you can rest your feet to make yourself comfortable. The meditation room is fully accessible with plenty of room for a wheelchair.

As we continue to maintain and improve the Centre, access for everyone is a priority.

If you have any other queries please contact us at the centre. We are happy to help you in any way we can.
